Wildlife Habitat Federation - Advertising Information

Introduction

WHF has decided to offer some of the most basic, entry-level, lowest-priced advertising. But WHF is going to be pretty strict as to what can be displayed on the site. Each ad will have to receive WHF's seal of approval before it gets put into rotation.

Available Advertising Tiers

There are two different advertising tiers to choose from depending upon how much you want to invest in promoting your product, site, etc. The basic monthly agreement is for one banner — but if you'd like to promote more than one item or have a few different banners in rotation to increase exposure, additional banners/exposures can be purchased at half the initial cost (details below). That said, here are the different packages available:

Front Page Package:
468x60 banner, front and secondary pages (all pages), top-center (below site navigation), $10/month. No limit, no minimum. Additional ads (or just an additional rotation hit) can be placed in rotation for $5 each.

Secondary Page Package:
468x60 banner, secondary pages ONLY, top-center (below site navigation), $7.50/month. No limit, no minimum. Additional ads (or just an additional rotation hit) can be placed in rotation for $3.75 each.

Ad Rotation Policy

As mentioned previously, advertising on the WHF web site is meant to be as simple and affordable as possible — for those advertising as well as for the web master. That said, we don't offer any click-through tracking or any other tracking relating to your count of exposures, etc.

The rotation is handled by JavaScript at each page load, at which time the script will randomly select an image from the specific ad folder on the server. If there are only 10 ads in that directory, you have a 1/10 chance of having your ad displayed. If there are 50 in that directory, you have a 1/50 chance at exposure. This puts everyone on an equal playing field of random chance that no one can manipulate.

If you want to increase your odds at exposure, you can add additional banners/rotations for the amounts listed above. The more ads you have, the greater the chance your banner will be displayed.

Lastly, the webmaster considers a "month" to be a minimum of 28 days, regardless of what the calendar says. Advertising Banners will be updated on or around the 1st of each month.

Ad Banner Image Policy

Since WHF is no fan of advertising banners, and because we don't want our site to look like a circus, we have some very specific requirements that must be met and agreed to before I'll place any banner into rotation. Those requirements are:

• No animation or flashing allowed!

• Images must be the exactly 468x60— no more, no less.

• Images must be in GIF or JPG format.

• Images should be no more than 15k in size.

• Banners must look professional and meet WHF's approval before entering rotation.

• WHF reserves the right to refuse banners or potential advertisers at our discretion.
