Stephen F. Austin State Park Fall Forest Fest 2023
Stephen F. Austin State Park is hosting the first ever ‘Fall Forest Fest’, sponsored by non-profit Charitable Heroes Achieving Memorable Performances (C.H.A.M.P) in celebration of 100-years of Texas State Parks, on October 14, 2023 from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.
“We’re hoping to re-introduce our neighbors in Austin County to the park and connect park visitors new and returning to the nature and quality outdoor recreation in their community. Our goal is to provide an educational experience through which participants will have an amazing time,” said Park Superintendent Marcy Martinez.
The event is “spooky forest“ themed. Family-friendly activities will include a haunted trail, myth-busting programs, live-animal exhibits, and other nature-themed activities to connect surrounding communities to the park’s natural resources. The park is waiving entrance fees for day-use visitors. We hope you and your family will consider spending the evening with us.
Stephen F. Austin State Park is a 473-acre parcel of public land, managed by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to conserve natural and cultural resources, provide recreational and educational opportunities, and foster an understanding of the diversity of Texas’ lands and heritage for all generations.
WHF will have an educational booth at the event with our own conservationists to speak with the public about custom habitat management plans and funding sources available through WHF.
