In this season of gratitude, I would take a moment to reflect on the productivity of recent months and the promising future that lies ahead. The addition of new funding through NRCS agreements has garnered new interest among Texas landowners and has led to a surge in the utilization of WHF resources. I’ve had the privilege of visiting seven new landowners on their properties, with three more visits scheduled for December. Collectively, these interactions have resulted in the implementation of improved management practices across more than 1,025 acres. These practices encompass a range of conservation goals such as brush management, prescribed fire, herbicide application, native grass planting, and grazing management. Notably, we have extended our reach to previously uncharted territories, establishing a presence in Kerr and San Saba counties. Witnessing the expansion of our organization and its broader mission of aiding landowners in sustainable land management and conservation is truly exciting. I derive immense satisfaction from observing the dedication of the landowners I collaborate with, who share a profound passion for conservation and the responsible stewardship of their properties for the benefit of native wildlife and sustainable agriculture. As I express my gratitude for the grants and donors that fuel our conservation efforts, I am equally thankful for the private landowners who exhibit a genuine commitment to managing their land in a way that enhances natural resources.
