Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has partnered with Wildlife Habitat Federation (WHF) to help working land managers develop conservation plans and enroll in NRCS Farm Bill programs. WHF conservation planning and assistance will help improve working land function, enhance wildlife habitat, and increase the quantity and quality of water.
WHF will provide technical guidance and assistance for planning, restoration, enhancement and/or protection of working agriculture lands in each of the five NRCS Texas administrative zones.

The initiative, which will provide funding to private landowners to conserve prairies, wetlands, farms, and ranches, is funded through an award from the National Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) as part of its Regional Conservation Partnership Program (NRPP).
The initiative will also provide funding to help landowners manage and enhance habitat on privately owned lands for the benefit of the grassland and wetland-development species that reside on the coastal prairie, such as the whooping crane, mottled duck, and western chicken turtle.
