WHF is a 501c (3) non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration, management and generational sustainability of prairie habitats for the conservation of our precious natural resources; soil, water, air, plants and wildlife. WHF must recover expenses associated with providing these services from the landowner at a nominal charge for time and travel. These charges help to defray our operating costs by covering a portion of our expenses.
In coordination with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and The Jacob and Terese Hershey Foundation, WHF is providing technical assistance in the planning of conservation activities to landowners in a 17-county area located in the lower Colorado, Lower San Bernard and the lower Brazos River watersheds free of charge to the landowner.
In a cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and WHF (Recipient), WHF will strive to increase the conservation of natural resources and agricultural sustainability of Historically Underserved Farmers and Ranchers, and small acreage landowners, in Central Texas through a program of Outreach and Technical Assistance, adding to NRCS’s conservation planning capacity. This agreement covers expenses of WHF Conservationists and is free of charge to the landowner.
