Chad Ellis Unanimously Elected to WHF Board of Trustees
Cat Spring, TX – April 9, 2026 – Wildlife Habitat Federation’s Board of Trustees has unanimously elected Chad Ellis to the Board of Trustees at WHF’s annual Sporting Clays for Conservation in March. Ellis brings more than 25 years of experience working directly with producers and land managers to implement stewardship-focused management, advancing WHF’s mission of engaging land managers in conservation practices that deliver measurable improvements in soil health and wildlife habitat.
Chad Ellis serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Agricultural Land Trust (TALT). Throughout his career, Ellis has worked alongside landowners to promote practical, science-based stewardship strategies that strengthen both working lands and natural resources. In addition to his professional leadership, Ellis actively implements these principles within his own family operation in Lohn, Texas.
Ellis has held numerous leadership roles within the conservation and agricultural community. He is a past chair of the National Grazing Lands Coalition (NatGLC), the US Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (USRSB), and the Ecosystem Service Market Consortium (ESMC). He also served as the founding chair of Trust in Food’s Trust in Beef program, helping shape industry-wide efforts to advance sustainability and transparency in beef production.
“Chad’s hands-on experience and leadership across the agricultural and conservation sectors make him an outstanding addition to our Board,” said Garry L. Stephens, President & CEO of WHF. “His deep commitment to land stewardship and his ability to connect with producers will strengthen our efforts to deliver meaningful, science-based conservation results across Texas.”
“I am honored to join the WHF Board of Trustees and support an organization that is making tangible impacts for wildlife and working lands,” said Ellis. “I am passionate about helping empower producers to be better tomorrow than they are today, and I look forward to advancing conservation strategies that bring landowners, practitioners, and partners together to strengthen Texas’ natural resources for future generations.”
